Juliett Class
What began as a duo with Joan Sullivan (Quattracenta, The Selkies) on drums and Niabi Aquena (Child of Night, Searmanas) on guitar and vocals in 2020, blossomed into a trio with the addition of Heather Wagner (Jeffrey Lewis, Peter Stampfel, Elgin Marbles) on drums, and Sullivan moving to bass. Taking the summer of 2021 to finesse their existing songs and collaborate on new material, the group dynamic morphed effortlessly into a raucous explosion of pulsing drums and high energy guitar. Their songs are shaped by musical influences such as PJ Harvey, Wire, and early Sleater Kinney- the band's lyrics lament love and loss in a pandemic, and navigating the human condition. Fresh from recording this September at the famed Magpie Studios with J Robbins (Jawbox, Government Issue) in Baltimore, MD -- Juliett Class will be releasing their debut EP on all digital and streaming platforms on March 4th. A limited run vinyl will be available for purchase summer of 2022.
